Shalini Iyer

Shals joined the Nina and Pinta Team as our Director of Business Development & Training Consultant. She brings with her over 16 years of work experience in Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management & Operations for Hotel Brands like Marriott International, Starwood Hotels & Hyatt Corporation where the focus was on Revenue Generation, Total Account Management, New Business Development, Account Saturation, Market Penetration, Relationship Building and Team Management.

She has a Baccalaureate in Hospitality Management (B.H.M.) from one of the premier institutions in India. She has since had wide-ranging exposure to various functions within the hotel industry in India, United Kingdom, Singapore as well as here in the United States. She also completed her Integrated 360 Marketing course certification via Cornell University that resulted in skillset development for Digital Marketing, Strategic Hospitality Marketing & Data Driven Marketing.

Shals was the recipient of the “Sales Leader of the Year Award” for the Aloft Hotels brand globally” in 2019 and this nomination was presented by the Leadership at Northwood & Marriott International. This prestigious recognition reflects her educational background and continuous learning, a natural flair for interpersonal and communication skills, a passion for building and maintaining key relationships with internal and external stakeholders, demonstrating leadership skills with strong financial & analytical acumen & implementing strategic initiatives to achieve desired return on investment.

Shals has been volunteering time and is a current member of the GBTA – North Carolina Chapter. She holds the position of an Allied Board of Director and is actively involved in planning programs and educational webinars and events as well as managing the Marketing & Communications for the organization.
